When brewers from around the globe channel their creativity into a single beer style, the result is a true kaleidoscope of flavors. That’s exactly what makes the BestBrewChallenge 2025 tasting a one-of-a-kind experience. This year, everything revolved around the Oatmeal Stout – a complex beer style known for its velvety texture, roasted aromas, and subtle notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
All submitted beers were tasted and evaluated by an international jury of beer sommeliers. In addition to taste and adherence to style, the judges also focused on creativity, balance, and craftsmanship. Each beer told its own story – influenced by regional brewing techniques, water profiles, and the personal signature of each brewer.
What made it especially exciting: despite using the same base ingredients – including the required BEST Oat malt – the flavor profiles ranged from dry and bitter to creamy and full-bodied. This impressive variety in interpretation showcased just how multifaceted a single beer style can be.
The award ceremony will take place in September 2025. All participants will receive their feedback and the participants’ t-shirt as a memento of this global brewing celebration in autumn.
This much can be revealed in advance: The top three finishers come from Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
