The Starting Conditions: | Brew an Oatmeal Stout style beer using BEST Oat Malt (we also suggest BEST Chocolate, BEST Black Malt & BEST Black Malt eXtra). Recommended yeast: AEB Fermoale AY 3. More information about the style can be found here. |
The Recipe: | Compliance with the German purity law! |
The Competition: | Brewers who would like to enter their beer in the taste challenge for the BEST beers must send us (a) the completed Documentation sheet together with (b) at least three liters to BESTMALZ Heidelberg (Palatia Malz GmbH, BestBrewChallenge, Am Bahnbetriebswerk 5, 69115 Heidelberg, Germany). An international jury of beer sommeliers will judge the taste (date of receipt 30 May 2025). |
The Prizes: | The winning beer will be brewed and serverd at the Drinktec fair in Munich. The winner will also be invited to participate (max. 2 persons, incl. travel & accommodation expenses)
2nd place: 100 € coupon for the BESTMALZ Fanshop or for the purchase of Basic malts. 3rd place: 50 € coupon for the BESTMALZ Fanshop or for the purchase of Basic malts. Places 1 to 3: Professional beer analysis. Creative prize for the BEST packaging and BEST label: 100 € coupon for the BESTMALZ Fanshop or for the purchase of Basic malts each. For all participants who submit their beer: T-Shirt & professional recipe evaluation. |
